ITINERARY – SODDU

RELIEF TERRACOTTA PANEL by STEFANO SODDU – cm. 114X57 – 2013

TITLE: PERCORSO (ITINERARY)

Stefano Soddu moved to Milan at a young age to complete his Law studies. In the 70′s, his passion for the arts led him to approach Burri’s Experimentalism, which strongly influenced his early production. His remarkable 1997 solo exhibition at the Villa of the Viscontean Castle in Trezzano sull’Adda (Milan) was followed by numerous further exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Spain, Germany,Russia and the US). Sculpture is the artist’s favoured form of art and his metal pieces are designed and shaped so as to almost compete with the space around them. He’s been lately collaborating with Ceramiche San Giorgio ceramic workshop, where he’s currently experimenting with ceramics and painting: his monochrome terracotta plates feature  typical side-cuts and carvings.
